MUSHROOM BIRYANI OR KAALAN BIRYANI

Mushroom contain some of the most powerful natural medicines on the planet.About 100 species are being studied for their health promoting benefits, and about a half dozen really stand out for their ability to deliver a tremendous boost to your immune system.mushroom are low in calories,fat free,cholesterol-free and very low in sodium .’mushroom may seem plain,but they really are a superfood.

INGREDIENT

Oil-2tsp
ghee-1/2 to 2 tsp
cloves-3
cinnamon-1
fennel seed-1/4tsp
bay leaves-2
ginger garlicpaste-2tsp
onion-2
green chill-2
tomato-1
button mushroom-1/4g
chilli powder -1/4tsp
tumeric powder-1/4tsp
coconut milk-1cup
water- 1 and 1/2 cups
curry leaves
coriander leaves
mint
basmati rice-1cup
salt

METHOD

1.Soak rice in water for 5 to 10 min.

2.Cut the onion ,green chilli ,extract the coconut milk from the coconut.

PREPARATION

1.Take a pressure cooker ,put the ghee,oil,when it is hot add cloves,cinnamon ,bay leaves,fennel seed,fry for few mintues.

2.Then add the onoin ,garlic ginger paste fry for 10 mintues.

3.Now add the chopped tomatoes,mint,chopped green chilli ,enough salt and cook until tomato mushy .

4.Add the mushroom,chilli powder,tumeric powder,add the 0ne cup of coconut milk,one and half of water,rice, coriander leaves and mix well.

5.Cook for 2 to3 whistle.

6.Remove the rice from pressure cooker and serve with raitha &gravy&varuval.
